WOW. What a great start to Ellie Mae's new life. This is what her dad had to say..

I can't say that Ellie Mae is settling in fine because that would be an understatement; she's been literally perfect. She has figured out to stand at our back door when she has to go out and she's gone to the bathroom quickly every time (though it's pretty brisk out there so her speed isn't too surprising ;-)). We had a neighbor over and Ellie Mae couldn't have been better with her. She's figured out where the toy boxes are, she's been exploring and seems to be settling in unbelievably well. ...
She just had dinner, went to the bathroom, wrinkle cleaning and meds and is now sleeping next to me on the couch (see below). I'll send a few more photos tomorrow - Linda has already taken a lot.
My biggest concern right now is that this seems too good to be true!

Update on ellie mae.. jan. 11, 2014
This is after our first walk in the neighborhood. I just checked and the route we did was around 6 tenths of a mile. It turned out to be a perfect distance - she just started to pant a little as we got near home. I decided to take down the Christmas tree when we got back (that’s the red ornaments box) and she slept right there for about 25 minutes without moving. BTW, I don’t know if you walked with her on lead much but she’s unbelievable. We haven...’t walked past other people with dogs yet but she walks like she’s spent time competing at Westminster. I actually feel a little guilty about how good she is. All the dogs in this neighborhood are out of control on lead - they do what they want and pull the owners around. All we did was get a rescue dog and through no effort by us she’s in another category than the others.
